Philly Bike Expo 2024
Mark your calendars for March 16th & 17th. That’s right, the Philly Bike Expo has moved to Spring! The Philly Bike Expo celebrates the bicycle like no one else. Now in its 13th year, the Expo offers inspiration, information, and entertainment to cycling aficionados and novices alike. Held at the PA Convention Center, the Expo features exhibits by artisans and manufacturers from around the country and the world, demos, workshops, seminars and kids activities that include a spacious indoor test-ride area. Rides, food, and parties round out the fun-filled weekend. Tickets are on sale now for this “don’t miss” event at www.phillybikeexpo.com.
We will see you there! We are in booth 3104, stop by and check out some bikes!
Plans for the 2024 PBE had to take a hard pivot in the past month. 2 of the 3 bikes I had planned to bring were going to be started at the end of January. I was planning some rad stuff, and teaming up with some rad component companies. More on that later….but at the end of January I ruptured my right (dominant) bicep. I recently had the surgery to reattach my bicep. This put me out of work for about 10 weeks all said and done. So needless to say, I could not complete the bikes I was working on. Luckily, I have some amazing friends and clients that stepped up to help out. All of the bikes we will be showing are bikes that have been delivered to clients, loved, and ridden. It is amazing that they are willing to let me take their bikes for a few days to the show. I am floored by how great these people are! We will also have some help in our booth this year (especially needed as I am a one armed bandit). Zack Hill and his amazing Fiancé Megan Alberigi will be in the booth alongside my wife and I. They are very knowledgeable bike folks and great to chat with. Zack actually pitched in to help me assemble 2 of the bikes at the show, due to my injury. He is pretty much the only mechanic (besides myself) I would let touch my personal bikes. That say’s a lot! Stop in and meet them both!
A little about the bikes we will be displaying….
-Andy’s Custom “Dusty Handz” Gravel Bike. This is our flagship model. Adjustable dropouts front and rear. This allows for geometry adjusts based on riding style, conditions, or wheel/tire size. For more info about this bike, check it out on our product page! Also keep an eye out at New England gravel events for Andy racing this bike (possibly to a podium spot)
-Diane’s full custom gravel bike. This bike is what custom frame building is all about. The client has unique needs due to back issues and requires a very upright riding position. She wanted to maintain a lively and nimble feel as well. Pair my favorite gravel geometry with meeting her needs, and you have a comfortable and capable gravel bike!
-Alesha’s Custom “Dirty Handz” MTB. This is the MTB I made for my wife, Alesha. She is of very small stature so I basically had to make a kids MTB. This bike is designed to shred singletrack and is XC focused. This is a design I will offer for very small or youth riders. Fitting riders 4’7-5’1 this bike is built to give that smaller rider the edge. 27.5 wheels, 100mm travel and built with light weight double butted steel tubing.
-Aidan’s Custom Rad Rip, 29er BMX. This is a very custom build. 29er BMX is something I am really getting into. I had planned to build a crazy 29er BMX for the show, but plans changed! So I will display my good friend Aidan’s super sick BMX. This thing is awesome. Made for ripping wheelies and cruising. Full custom sizing for him (unheard of for 29er BMX), bottle cage mount, internal brake cable routing, and tons of custom touches. It truly needs to be seen to be appreciated!
Hope to see you there and chat about bikes!
